The Versoi Ensemble is a collective of young artists transitioning from student to professional artistic life who are interested in producing chamber music projects as agents of cultural diplomacy. These projects provide intimate work environment for artists to dive into a cultural exchange, as well as joint-advocacy of human rights not defined by international borders. The Ensemble seeks to connect an international community of artists to local communities of listeners who have projects engaged in social justice.
Brought together by the joint-orchestra tour between The Juilliard School and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki last summer, these American and Finnish musicians reunite to debut the Versoi Ensemble, a new force for music and cultural diplomacy through chamber music projects.
Works on this program feature both chamber music and string orchestra and are the culmination of a week-long residency in New York for intensive study and cultural exchange.
